Pastor Joe Daltorio

A word from Pastor Joe Daltorio:
In the Gospel of John 4:23 Jesus makes an amazing statement, "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks." - NIV

Our Heavenly Father is looking for a particular kind of worshipper. This tells us a couple significant things:

  • First, God doesn't accept all worship. He has a standard. The worship that God accepts must be spiritual worship. In other words it must be more than intellectual assent it must come from our spirit. In the context of John 4 where Jesus refers to the power of the Holy Spirit as a "spring of water welling up into eternal life." Spiritual worship involves the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells in each believer in accord with our spirit that enables us to worship "in spirit."
  • Secondly, Jesus says we must worship in truth. That means according to His Word! If it doesn't measure up to the Word of God than it is not acceptable worship.

At Western Reserve Community, our vision is worship that fulfills both standards for worship. We endeavor to be full of the Holy Spirit and powerfully rooted in the Word of God, The Bible. If you are seeking to be one of those worshippers that God is looking for, come and experience what God is doing!
